The role:

As a Senior Technical Underwriter, you will work closely with the Head of Technical Underwriting. You will be accountable for technical underwriting, the training and development of the underwriting community, and supporting the Head of Technical Underwriting in implementing change, drafting policy wordings, and contractual documentation.

Your Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the management team to develop and refine underwriting guidelines and policies.

Proactively support the business in improving the underwriting process, reduce leakage, and ensure a first-class customer proposition.

Utilise data analytics to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement in underwriting processes and pricing.

Act as a mentor and coach to support the development of underwriting staff, ensuring a consistent approach, and conduct peer reviews to support learning development for Technical Underwriters.

Work with the Reporting & Pricing Analyst to develop new analytical tools and methodologies.

Ensure consistency in contractual and policy documentation with company standards, aligned to our underwriting strategy.

Work closely with QGU, Legal & Claims, to help align wordings with underwriting intent.

Collaborate with the Head of Technical Underwriting to lead in the innovative development of new and existing products and services.
