Core Duties Will Include:
Responsibility for filing applications for costs assessments and collating documents in support to be despatched by courier to the Senior Court Costs Office. Prepare and assist with engagement letters. Assist with file opening and billing. Act as initial filer regarding enquiries. Assist with printing, creating documents, and sending letters and other administrative tasks. Provide an efficient and effective service to clients, updating them and keeping them informed. Communicate in a clear, polite, and calm manner to clients, work colleagues, and others. Assist and support more senior members of the team with work or tasks as required. Ensure that standards of quality and the reputation of the firm are maintained at all times. Support the effectiveness of the team by being positive and co-operative with all team members. Demonstrate commitment to the role and Department through excellent punctuality, timekeeping, and attendance. Manage time effectively and prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Take initiative for self-development and accept changes and new challenges required to meet individual and Departmental objectives. Ensure the confidentiality of all information and clients' documentation. Adhere to HR policies and procedures.
Experience:
Must be a good team player willing to work cooperatively with others. Accuracy with numbers is essential. Good organization with strong administration skills, as keeping tasks to an annual schedule is critical. Common sense and a practical approach to problem-solving. IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. Some experience of case management systems would be desirable. Excellent internal stakeholder and client handling skills. Confident telephone skills. An interest in working within a team supporting clients with severe disabilities would be helpful, but no prior experience of this area of legal work is required.
