We are looking for a passionate, hard-working and talented Software Development Manager for our growing Blink team. Our products need to be easy to use and run on minimal power. In this role, you will lead the firmware effort bringing new consumer products to market. You will interact with teams both within Blink and across the rest of Amazon. Most importantly, you will focus on ways to make the best products for our customers.

Key job responsibilities: Lead a team delivering features and bug-fixes for Blink cameras. Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software. Assure the right firmware strategy and architecture is applied by the team. Work across teams to manage dependencies and align on engineering work and timelines. Collaborate with business, and other internal teams to define and own features. Proactively solve day-to-day challenges and exercise sound judgment. Remove barriers to execution for the team. Define and execute process improvements to allow the team to improve over time. Mentor, hire, and retain excellent engineers. Drive best practices and engineering excellence. A day in the life: The Software Development Manager will work with their team to deliver new features for Blink cameras. You will work closely with your stakeholders to prioritize and schedule engineering work. You will be responsible for all engineering team members, coaching and mentoring as they work to execute a set of agile stories to deliver the required features. You will also work with your direct reports to remove roadblocks, help with career development and coach the team on best practices and agile processes.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals. Engineering team management experience. People management experience. Working directly within engineering teams experience. Experience with building successful production software systems. Experience working with networking or communications devices in an embedded environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Deep understanding of software development in a team and a track record of shipping software on time. Proficiency of the tools of the trade, including modern programming languages (C/C++, Python) and open-source technologies (Linux, RTOS). Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts. Can handle multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects. Strong business and technical vision. Broad hands-on technical expertise.
