Based within the Neuro Radiology Department – Royal Preston Hospital / Chorley District General Hospital. Opportunities exist to join our regional neurosciences centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria. The post holder will be expected to provide a comprehensive diagnostic neuroradiology service and will provide support for the 9 existing neuroradiologists (4 of whom perform neuro intervention) and 2 head and neck radiologists. Any person who is unable to work full-time for personal reasons will be eligible to be considered for the post and if appointed the job plan will be discussed on a personal basis in discussion with colleagues. The applicants should hold or be eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview. Main duties of the job
The post holder: Will be expected to provide a comprehensive diagnostic neuroradiology service and support for the existing neuroradiologists. In conjunction with colleagues, will have an active role in the planning, development and delivery of the neuro radiology service. Support diagnostic neuroradiology colleagues in both IP and OP MRI/CT reporting. A subspecialist interest in Head & Neck radiology is desirable. Interest in PET CT would be supported. Provide support for the local and Network neuroradiology MDTs. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a neuroradiology on-call rota with a 1:9 frequency. Qualifications
Full GMC Registration and License to Practice MBBS or equivalent FRCR or equivalent CCT within 6 months Fellowship in Diagnostic neuroradiology from an accredited Training scheme Subspecialist training in Head & Neck/ENT radiology Experience of advanced neuro-imaging techniques Experience
Wide experience in diagnostic neuroradiology and MDT work in a tertiary neurosciences centre. Experience of presenting in Neuroradiology MDTs. Recent experience of on-call working. Ability to perform neck ultrasound and guided interventions. Teaching skills for both medical and paramedical disciplines. Management
