Software Engineering Manager

Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 remote)
£70,000 + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Pension + 34 days hol (incl bank hols) + EV Scheme + lots more!
SR2 are excited to be supporting one of clients based in North Somerset, who are hiring for a new Software Engineering Manager to join and lead a team of 6 software engineers, who are working on highly complex and interesting technical challenges.
*Privately-owned software engineering business, small sized business (70+ people) with large growth plans over next 2 years*
You will be overseeing the team, setting the technical direction for them, mentoring and doing general line management responsibilities such as 1-2-1s, annual appraisals etc.
We're looking for someone with a strong technical background, however this role is hands off with code but you will still be involved with architectural design decisions.
As the Software Engineering Manager, you'll be developing and helping your team of engineers to grow professionally all whilst driving the performance of the team forwards, and helping to develop their skills and talents.
Experience Needed:
Strong background in Software development (Java, Rest APIs, Azure or AWS) Experience of team leadership/management and software development Experienced with 1-2-1s, annual appraisals, performance reviews, mentoring/guiding team members Technical strategy setting Experienced working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team Understanding of relevant software design, coding and quality standards Teamwork mindset, with a "one team" ethic within your team Experienced working within an Agile environment
