This role would suit a collaborative, process-driven, structured and hungry business development executive passionate about winning new business. Overview The new Business Development Director will be tasked with identifying and winning Hedge Fund, Managed Accounts, and Fund of Hedge Fund Administration mandates. The preferred candidate must have: hedge funds sales experience, a CFO/COO and key intermediary network, senior contacts with several global Prime Brokers, and contacts with legal and accountancy practices. Above all, the candidate must have a proven track record of building a significant pipeline of new business, working alongside dedicated subject matter experts and support teams. Responsibilities Develop a strong pipeline of potential clients in the hedge fund, managed account and Fund of Hedge Fund space with a focus on profitable new revenue generation. Identify and win new business mainly in EMEA (UK and Mainland Europe focused), targeting both new fund launches and established funds across the hedge fund space. Take ownership of the sales process and lead commercial negotiations in line with internally agreed parameters. Help build the firm’s brand and increase brand awareness to generate quality leads. Attendance and participation at industry events. Develop and manage the financial intermediary and third-party services provider network including Prime Brokers, Solicitors, Auditors and Consultants. Participate in the Hedge Fund team thought leadership initiatives by writing topical articles pertinent to the industry. Regular Travel Required (Mainland Europe). Experience Ideally, the candidate must have a proven track record of building a significant pipeline of new business with material revenue in the hedge fund arena of outsourced middle-office, back-office, fund administration and accounting services. Competencies The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a quick learner and will be expected to establish and maintain relationships with key influencers in the industry. Self-motivated and driven to deliver strong sales results. Ideally, previous sales experience and exposure to Fund Administration. Must be a confident and successful salesperson, happy to make approaches to new/cold customers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). A real passion, knowledge and genuine interest in open-ended fund structures, market trends and regulations. The successful candidate should have the ability to identify opportunities for outsourcing services.
