Project Cost Consultant

to join our Environment team in

Bristol . You’ll support the commercial delivery of our projects, assist in managing the environmental aspects of major development projects, renewable energy schemes, and other infrastructure projects. You will also coordinate our projects team’s commercial obligations including programme management, budget monitoring, change control, and managing payment applications and invoicing. The role will be varied. Some days will be spent working with our clients, attending commercial meetings, and preparing change control payment applications. Other days will be spent working with our various environmental teams with their delivery programmes, monitoring their budgets, and checking financial project performance. The role will typically support several project managers across a variety of projects. We’re RPS, our projects are all around you. What you’ll be doing

Prepare project budgets and monitor spend. Prepare and update project programmes. Develop and implement project plans, risk management plans, and project commercial documentation. Monitor and control project work to check that projects are on schedule and within budget. Support project managers and teams working on large, multi-disciplinary projects. Provide project progress reports to the project manager, stakeholders, or clients. Support project teams with identifying scope changes and supporting change control. Identify, track, and help manage and mitigate project risks. Ensure effective and efficient communication within the project team and with the stakeholders. Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations reports in order to improve future project delivery. Support management of subcontractors and subconsultants. Support commercial aspects of proposals and tenders. Prepare pricing schedules and budgets for tenders. Who we’re looking for

Experience working on environmental or engineering design projects or multi-disciplinary consultancy. Use of project programme/management software like Microsoft Project, P6, etc., ideally but not essential. Decisive, well organised, and a great team worker. Confident working on their own and motivated. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills and can work with colleagues at all levels. Flexible and ability to work to tight deadlines. Attention to detail and very confident with handling commercial data and spreadsheets. Basic understanding of contracts. Self-starter and ability to work without close supervision. Minimum A Level or equivalent standard with good levels of GCSEs in English and Maths. Very proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. What’s in it for you?
