Description We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our dynamic team in the food production industry. This pivotal role requires a strong leader who can drive innovation, optimise processes, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in our manufacturing practices. As an Engineering Team Leader, you will oversee a team of skilled engineers dedicated to improving asset efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering principles, a solid understanding of food safety standards, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing the maintenance. Using your technical skills to guide your team towards achieving strategic objectives. Additionally, you will foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead and manage your engineering team to ensure maintenance is carried out on time and reactive works are carried out effectively to ensure minimal disruption. Be accountable for performance issues relating to engineering. Develop and implement engineering processes and standards to improve production efficiency. Manage holidays, absence and disciplinary's. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain, to meet operational goals. Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure best practices are followed in all engineering activities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analysing data and implementing effective solutions to enhance performance. Mentor and develop engineers, providing guidance and support for professional growth and skill development. Attend regular cross-functional site meetings in a professional manner to promote collaboration. Ensure CMMS data is recorded by your team accurately and on time. Ensure a good handover between shifts at all times. Provide regular updates to site team on ongoing issues. Requirements Level 3 in Engineering discipline, multi-skilled preferred. Level 3 in leadership and management. Preferred but training given to the right candidate. Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 2 years within the food production industry. Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP and GMP methodologies. Proven track record of managing engineering projects from inception to completion with successful outcomes. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of engineers. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to identify opportunities for improvement. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organisation.
