Our client based in Portsmouth is currently on the look out for a Production Controller to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities Production Control and Planning: Utilise MRP/ERP systems to manage and progress projects. Release and monitor works orders. Address and resolve shortages and delays. Maintain production and vendor progress reports. Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure deadlines are achieved. Escalate issues impacting production schedules. Monitoring and Reporting: Generate daily reports on production metrics. Ensure timely delivery by closely monitoring progress. Process Improvement: Ensure adherence to quality systems and lean manufacturing practices. Apply knowledge of material specifications and failure data. Skills and Experience Requirements Essential Skills: Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Experience in a mechanical engineering/manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ERP systems for planning and reporting. Understanding of material handling and quality standards. Desirable Skills: Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices such as KanBan. Understanding of metal processing techniques. Personal Traits: Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Comfortable working under pressure and to strict deadlines. Other Requirements Full, clean UK driving licence. Eligibility to work in the UK. Willingness to undergo a police check. Work Environment and Benefits Based in Portsmouth, working within a collaborative and hardworking team. Working hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (6:30 AM - 4:00 PM). Benefits include 5 weeks’ holiday (pro-rata), company bonus (pro-rata), and a pension scheme. Job Types:
