0.4 PA for On-call (Regional Neurology Rota based at Southampton)
1.5 SPA (SPA allocations can be reviewed annually subject to approval from the Medical Director)

Main duties of the job The role incorporates regular general outpatient neurology clinics together with an inpatient liaison service.
Neuro-radiology meetings occur twice a month in Winchester. A clinical governance or management meeting is held on the other weeks of the month. On service effectiveness and development, we work closely with the Long Term Conditions Operational Service Managers.
The successful candidate would be expected to commit to the on-going development of care within the Medical Division; to take part in the education of junior medical staff, nursing staff and allied health professionals; to contribute to the governance activity and medical management of the department; and to foster the cohesiveness and teamwork in the wider neurology team.
The post is linked to the regional neurosciences centre at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), where our patients requiring inpatient management are admitted; and where there will be the opportunity to undertake subspecialist work. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in UHS governance activity and continuing medical education sessions.
There is full secretarial support with an administration team consisting of a Speciality Co-ordinator (Neurology) and support staff on both main hospital sites. Each Consultant has dedicated office space and supporting IT.
