Male Sport & Behaviour Intervention Specialist
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Sport & Behaviour Intervention Specialist to take on a full-time position in one of our partnership secondary schools in the Tonypandy area. This post is available to start immediately in January and will run for the duration of the academic year (until July 2025), with scope to continue on in September.
Role Overview:
Support students across KS3 and KS4 within an alternative provision
Work with the students on their academic subjects
Manage challenging behaviour
Run sport & activities for the students when they need an outlet
Work within a team of support staff
This is a fantastic role for a sports coach or sports graduate looking for a position within education. You will be supporting children aged 11-16 within a specific unit in the school. Many of these students come from less favourable backgrounds including care and therefore they can sometimes exhibit challenging behaviours within school. It will be your responsibility to monitor and manage this while supporting the student emotionally, academically, and mentally.
Role Requirements:
Enhanced DBS available on the Update Service *
Valid registration with the EWC *
Experience and confidence with getting involved in sporting activities
Experience working with challenging individuals or additional needs desirable
