The Department Our Dispute Resolution and Litigation team specializes in providing bespoke solutions for clients in all forms of litigation, arbitration, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Our expert team of legal advisors and support staff across the department are known for their ability to handle complex matters involving multiple issues. The team works on all types of disputes for a range of clients, including large corporate clients, smaller businesses, entrepreneurs, schools, and individuals. The range of work is diverse including contractual disputes, director and shareholder disputes, professional negligence, insolvency, education law, regulatory and corporate defence, construction, contentious property issues, and contentious trust and probate. Our department is experienced in handling high-value as well as high-volume cases. The Role Provide a quality, tailored, and supportive legal service to a range of clients. Assist current clients with their specific needs in Dispute Resolution & Litigation. Assist Senior Lawyers with their caseload and develop own portfolio of clients. Main Responsibilities Manage a mixed caseload of client matters specifically in the area of Insolvency. Provide clients with high-quality, proactive legal advice that meets client needs. Achieve the firm’s fee targets and assist others in the team to do so. Display excellent file management skills to meet the needs of the business. Deliver legal services in a cost-efficient manner for both the client and the firm. Maximize the use of technology to enhance performance. Enhance the firm’s reputation within the community by developing a professional reputation and participating in activities to support the firm. Identify opportunities for cross referrals and provide excellent client service. Contribute to the firm’s marketing initiatives by participating in events, networking, seminars, and writing marketing material. Provide advice and support in Dispute Resolution & Litigation, including: Acting for a mix of Claimants and Defendants, from obtaining initial instructions to achieving a resolution. Experience of insolvency litigation, preferably acting for both Insolvency Practitioners and Directors. Maintain own caseload, obtaining guidance from Senior Lawyers when required. Maintain regular billing of client files where appropriate. Advise clients on funding options and alternative dispute resolution processes. Identify and liaise with appropriate experts and Counsel. Undertake advocacy at all interlocutory stages when cost-effective. Specialize in particular areas of law or processes as required by the Department. Support senior team members in their caseloads, including running their cases during absences. Attend networking events and assist in building the profile of the firm and Department. Keep up to date with developments in Dispute Resolution & Litigation law relevant to the cases being run. Undertake any other reasonable duties allocated to the role.
