We provide technical and advisory services across every dimension of flood risk management. The Opportunity We are seeking a principal flood risk consultant to lead a diverse range of projects working for clients such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Local Authorities. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about people, technical excellence and providing an outstanding service to our clients. You will be an active, collaborative member of our Flood and Coasts team in the West, located in Bristol or Cardiff. You will lead, manage and deliver projects across the project lifecycle aligned with your experience and development needs, allowing you the opportunity to learn and grow your career supported by our team. Is this role right for you? We are looking for a senior/principal consultant or engineer with curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. You will be as inspired as we are by the problems we are solving and excited to help our clients and lead teams delivering the solutions. Engineering experience in the UK flood risk management sector is desirable. You will have appreciation of the project cycle, from conception and business case justification through to delivery of detailed design and construction. With support, can you apply your excellent technical appreciation of civil engineering to flood and coast flood risk management? If you have some or all of these skills and experience and a passion for delivering high value solutions, we’d love to hear from you. We're looking for the following qualifications, attributes and skills: Relevant degree and Chartered Engineer status. Experience of successfully leading teams and managing projects to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and budgets. Demonstrable experience of delivering high quality flood risk solutions in the UK. A desire and ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and within Arup. A creative approach to problem solving with a focus on continual improvement and delivering sustainable and value led project outcomes.
