Faculty Widener University is currently seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the College of Arts and Sciences to begin August 2025. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has a teaching load of 4/3 (12 semester hours/9 semester hours) and involves teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. The candidate is also expected to serve as an academic advisor to undergraduate criminal justice majors. The area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, be expected to pursue an active research agenda, and contribute to university and professional service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Commitment to undergraduate education, clear evidence of scholarly potential, and a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related discipline. ABD candidates may be considered if the Ph.D. will be completed by August 2025. Some positions may be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement that may include a partially or fully remote work location, consistent with Widener’s Flexible Work policy. U.S. work authorization is required. Widener University, an independent, metropolitan, doctoral-intensive university, connects curricula to social issues through civic engagement.
