ASAP Due to significant project wins across the water sector, a global civil engineering firm is seeking to appoint a passionate civil engineer with extensive design experience in wastewater to join permanently and work across the entire project lifecycle. This is a full-time permanent position based in the Manchester area, offering flexible working arrangements to suit your needs. The perfect candidate will boast a robust background in delivering leading-edge design & embrace the complex challenges facing the water industry with innovative design solutions. Responsibilities:

Lead the oversight and evaluation of all project delivery aspects, ensuring design performance is optimized. Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, facilitating seamless communication with commercial and finance teams through thorough cost reconciliation. Experience in storm water management, SUDS, surface water systems, and sewage treatment is essential. Manage and mentor a team of engineers, coordinating a full programme of works to meet project goals. Be instrumental in the delivery of detailed design for projects predominantly to reduce spills from Combined Sewer Overflows & offer storage solutions to support AMP 8 commitments. Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, including Severn Trent, United Utilities, and third-party asset owners, ensuring smooth project progression. Oversee the development and maintenance of project programmes from pre-construction through the ECI phases, ensuring a smooth transition to the delivery team for execution. Maintain consistent communication with the delivery team, ensuring project milestones are met. Requirements:

UK accredited degree certificate in Civil Engineering. Hold a chartered status with a relevant professional body e.g. ICE, CIWEM. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the water sector. Previous experience working in a similar role on previous AMPS (desirable). Proven track record delivering community-focused projects/solutions ensuring carbon reduction and sustainability. Proficient in coaching junior engineers with great communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
