Planning & Control (P&C) Lead

to join the Planning & Control functional team within Submarines. This will be an interesting challenge for someone looking to test their skills in leading and delivering both functional improvement projects and supporting broader Submarines initiatives and P&C capability development in an environment of significant change. The role spans aspects of project management or improvements, process & system enhancements, and new capabilities, to deliver key aspects of the Functional Plan. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week. What you will be doing: You will ensure the creation, maintenance, and execution of detailed plans for all given projects, including managing all stakeholder communications. You will interface with various functional groups throughout the project and value stream life cycle. You will plan, design and implement capable supply chains on a total cost basis, resulting in engineered supply chain solutions for new product introduction, modifications and change of source & new facilities within the supply chain. You will provide ongoing support for supply chain changes as applicable through the product life cycle to ensure sustained production readiness, leading where required value stream mapping and Integrated Production and Production Readiness. You will prepare and deliver relevant planning & control information to achieve key milestone gate reviews required by the project. You will act as the focal point for all aspects related to the Planning & Control Projects/Portfolios/packages of work, including skills and process capability development projects. You will act as independent assessor for Production Rate Readiness assessments ensuring P&C principles are sufficiently considered and appropriate actions and accountability are clear. Who we're looking for: Experience of delivering projects and change programmes Experience within either Planning & Control or Manufacturing Functions, and working with complex Manufacturing businesses Ability to manage stakeholder engagement and requirements, deal with ambiguity and complexity and work in a disciplined and structured manner Self-starter with drive to deliver key milestones and elements of the Functional Plan. Interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role. Knowledge of New Build facilities project models such as FPM and Production Readiness processes such as IPPR or APQP are desirable. Experience of working with MRP Systems, particularly SAP, preferable but not essential. We are an equal opportunities employer.
