Advanced Specialist Pharmacist – Women & Children (Attracts £5000 RRP)

This post will attract a Recruitment & Retention Premia (RRP) totalling £5,000, payable upon appointment, covering 36 months of service, in addition to a relocation allowance (subject to eligibility). The RRP payment is for external candidates only and is pro rata for part-time employees. Main duties of the job

Responsible for the provision of a high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy service for patients within Women and Children's Care Group. Work closely with the Lead Pharmacists for Women and Children's providing specialist pharmacy input. Undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare employees. Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to the clinical specialities including Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Paediatric Oncology, Paediatric Outpatients, demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness. Work closely with the Lead pharmacists & associate chief pharmacist for clinical services on the strategic development of clinical pharmacy services. Develop and manage the delivery of pharmacy services to ensure efficient use of resources and systems including monitoring drug expenditure. Work with the clinical and governance teams to develop guidelines, protocols and PGDs within Women and Children's services. Undertake audits and engage with Quality Improvement and practice research projects. Job responsibilities

Responsible to the Lead Pharmacist for Paediatrics and Sexual Health, Lead Pharmacist for Neonates, Maternity and Gynaecology. Support the Chief Pharmacist / Deputy Chief Pharmacist / Associate Chief Pharmacist and Care Group Lead Pharmacists in developing, monitoring, and reporting on drug expenditure and medicines budget. Development, implementation, and update of clinical pharmacy policy in conjunction with senior pharmacists. Work as a member of the Clinical Pharmacy Team, Women and Children care group service lines and wider UHP pharmacy team. Monitor, review, and report on medicines related incidents within Women and Children care areas. Provide highly specialist clinical pharmacy care to patients in Women and Children care areas. To manage, lead and co-ordinate pharmacy staff working in Women and Children care areas. To act as a role model as a clinical pharmacist and team leader. To practice as an independent prescriber. To engage with Quality Improvement and practice research. Person Specification

Qualifications

Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy. Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate. Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma. Non-medical prescriber (or must be willing to undertake this when requested). Knowledge and Experience

Excellent proven knowledge of clinical pharmacy and drug use with the area of Neonatal and Women's or Paediatric Services. Demonstrable experience in a range of clinical specialties. Proven knowledge of strategic care agendas. Excellent oral and written communication skills to address highly complex issues. Aptitude and Abilities

Good communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels. Demonstrate potential management ability. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
