Process Control Project Engineer Salary – Competitive based on experience. Hours – 07:30 – 16:00 Mon to Fri Holidays – 25 days plus bank holidays Reports to – Head of Engineering Location - Otley Purpose The Process Control Project Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing projects as we strive to modernise and automate the factory at our Whiteleys facility through Capex Investment. Main Responsibilities Lead and manage process control projects from inception through completion, including planning, execution, and monitoring. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved. Prepare and maintain documentation related to control systems and project activities. Ensure all process control systems and activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Analyse process data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement control strategies to enhance efficiency. Interact with customers, maintenance, and production employees to resolve issues and identify opportunities. Manage development efforts, including activities such as assigning tasks to co-workers, conducting project plan reviews, preparing development-related documentation, and monitoring cost and resource estimates. Provide technical guidance and support to field personnel and contractors. Liaise with client (Operations) to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes. Conduct training and foster professional development with production and maintenance employees. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions. Provide on-call technical support for the Whiteleys paper manufacturing facility. Utilise CMMS (Pemac) for management of project related tasks. Required/Preferred Expertise Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Controls Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience in industrial controls or 10 years of Controls experience in a manufacturing plant (paper manufacturing preferred). Proficient in several programming languages and control device networks including, but not limited to Siemens, Allen Bradley, and ABB. Experienced with HMI design, PID loops, Machine networking. Strong project management and leadership skills. Prince2 or similar would be beneficial. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
