Your new company: Our client, a private equity-backed group business with ambitious growth plans, are recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to join their established team in Carlisle. The role will support with the timely preparation of the monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout. This position offers a balance between traditional financial responsibilities and working with the Financial Controller with a focus on continuous improvement to develop new systems and processes for a fast-growing business. This is a fantastic development opportunity for an AAT qualified candidate to embark on a progressive opportunity with qualified mentors. Your new role: Reporting to the Financial Controller, typical duties will evolve with the growth of the business and will include: Support with the preparation and analysis of key elements of the monthly management accounts Prepare and review monthly KPIs Performing key month-end reconciliations in the preparation of monthly management accounts and interpreting these in a commercial context Posting of accruals and prepayments Capex and fixed asset register reporting, including analysis of project costs incurred on telecoms network build programmes and monthly depreciation journals Supporting with payroll preparation and processing Providing robust financial analysis and to identify trends across the Group entities and supporting business cases Supporting with the year-end audit process and other statutory/regulatory requirements Business Partnering with other departments within the company Support the Financial Controller with the implementation of a new ERP/Finance system within the next 12 months Working with the Financial Controller to help drive efficiencies in spend across the Group entities What you'll need to succeed: AAT Qualified candidate, proactive self-starter and looking for career development, ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills both verbal and written, IT literate with strong ability using Microsoft Excel.
