Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Civils Agent / Senior Civils Site Manager on behalf of a rapidly expanding civil engineering regional contractor.
A supporting, flexible contractor who've operated across the North of England for several decades and grown to a significant standing with an annual turnover of £50m. They are growing a strong team in Yorkshire and need a Senior Agent to take control of several projects, involved in running projects cradle to grave. They are a huge advocate for the development and growth of their people, meaning an array of certifications and qualifications are potentially on offer.
Current projects include: Doncaster, Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield, Barnsley, etc. This role will initially involve taking control of a project around the Wakefield area and then branching further down the Project Manager route, growing with the business.
Projects include: water treatment works, waterways engineering, pumping stations, RC works, deep drainage, and industrial civils. Project values are up to £5m+.
Duties as Site Agent:
Full management of sites, liaising with the Contracts Manager. Overseeing Foreman/Manager on site - ensuring progress and standards are optimal. Leading projects from ECI and enabling through site setup and all through delivery to handover. Managing temporary works, lifting operations, and HSE on site. Ensuring RAMS are written specific to the site. Conducting progress meetings with senior management and clients. Involvement with early warnings and compensation events.
Experience as Site Agent:
Must have: Experience working as Site Agent on civil engineering main contractor projects. Experience with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts. Experience managing projects valued at £5m from setup to handover. Detailed experience with: water treatment, deep drainage, pumping stations, or similar heavy civils. SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, Temporary Works, First Aid, etc. Nice to have: Engineering background, working from Site Engineer to Site Agent. Degree qualified or HNC/HND qualified within civil engineering.
Remuneration: A salary of up to £60,000 (dependent upon experience) plus company vehicle or allowance, fuel card, annual leave, pension scheme, healthcare, and other benefits.
