Senior Aero Design Engineer
to be responsible for the detail design activities related to model and development components and assemblies that will be used within the context of the wind tunnel test environment. You will ensure that parts are designed in a timely manner for wind tunnel tests and development programs within the department. Model Design
Provide wind tunnel test part designs of a high quality. Through good design reducing lead times and/or reduce model change time. Detail design of components and assemblies used in the Wind Tunnel testing and development of F1 car aerodynamic surfaces. Development of materials used within the Aerodynamics Department to produce both cost and time effective solutions. Mentorship and Innovation
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the Model Design Team. Execute the day-to-day tasks, including keeping aero tracking systems up to date. Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects. Work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department/team/sponsors. Communicate effectively with external groups such as suppliers. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the Model Design Team. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams as part of a team to achieve project objectives. University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace engineering or a related field. Former design experience, particularly in high-performance automotive or motorsports industries. Solid foundation of engineering principles and the application of them to engineering problems. Working knowledge of CAD is essential. Proficiency in tools such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptable with a positive attitude and proactive mindset. Ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales. Initiative and Innovation. Strong ability to take initiative in problem-solving situations. Fluency in English.
