Posting End Date: 24th Dec 2024 Location: Severn Trent Centre, Coventry Role Type: Full Time Contract Salary: Competitive We’re seeking a commercial Senior Finance Business Partner to sit on the leadership team for Severn Trent Services (STS) and partner with the Managing Director, supporting the STS Executive Team and overseeing the STS finance function. ABOUT STS Severn Trent Services (STS) is a commercial business that’s part of the Severn Trent PLC group. The business offers a variety of water & wastewater services to organisations across the UK through different business units. Services include: The design, build, operation & maintenance of private water and wastewater treatment facilities for a variety of industrial/municipal clients. Water hygiene and legionella services for buildings across a number of contracts. Maintenance or upgrading of existing reed beds, used in the water treatment process. The business has combined annual revenues of c£104 million and delivers c£23 million profit before interest and tax (PBIT) and employs c350 employees in multiple locations across the UK. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW As part of the STS leadership team, you will lead, develop & drive the financial performance & profit and loss for each business unit and the portfolio as a whole, shaping and leading the business strategy to achieve stretching financial targets. You’ll partner with the Managing Director and support the wider Executive Team in providing insightful financial information to drive an outperformance culture through robust challenge of each department's budgets. Working closely with operations and commercial teams, you’ll provide them with clear, well-thought-out insight into their cost base, helping to shape the broader financial, operational, and commercial strategy. You will also lead the STS finance function, managing and motivating a team of c10 finance professionals responsible for accounts receivable/payable, financial accounting & control, commercial accounting, analysis & insight. Ensuring they have the skills, experience, and drive to support the operational teams, enabling critical, value-based decision-making, identifying and implementing efficiencies at pace, and improving financial controls. This role requires strong commercial drive and acumen, and the ability to support critical business decision-making with brilliant multi-dimensional insight. ABOUT YOU You’ll be a fully qualified finance professional with experience working at a senior finance level in a fast-paced, highly commercial, and competitive environment, ideally with an operational/engineering focus managing multiple portfolios or business units across a large region. You’ll have excellent communication and influencing skills with strong experience of partnering senior business stakeholders with competing deliverables to hold them accountable for the delivery of financial and operational targets.
