Purified Air is a leading UK filtration company, specialising in the filtration of commercial kitchen extracts, and general air filtration of recirculating air within buildings. We are looking for a competent person to work in our technical department with experience in electrical/mechanical engineering preferred. You will be expected to work well with others in the established team and be flexible to switch between hands-on technical practical work and computer-based tasks. The ideal applicant will be willing to get involved in a diverse role, with some aspects being quite technical and others more practical, such as electrical tests and air flow testing. We seek a candidate who can learn quickly and has an interest in the work undertaken in this department. A willing applicant who may not have the necessary qualifications but has some experience in this field and a passion to learn more is encouraged to apply. The candidate should be able to consider both the technical aspects of research and the practical elements of the work. There will be lots of on-the-job training and guidance, as the work we do is quite niche and not a field where many have extensive experience. If we find a willing candidate with a basic understanding of the more technical side, we can provide training for anything else required upon taking on this role. Qualifications & Skills: Gaining a detailed understanding of kitchen extract systems and indoor air quality control systems and the technologies used. Developing practical skills in engineering design and development of these systems. Organising and performing the testing of new products. Writing technical reports, product user manuals, and instruction manuals. Providing technical advice to other workers in the company, clients, and customers. Taking an active role in engineering process improvement, ensuring the communication of best practices across the engineering team. Developing and applying academic skills to solve problems, generate ideas, and be proactive within the team.
