Supporting the development of the strategic business plan with particular regard to H&S initiatives, projects, and targets. Developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures, keeping key business duty holders informed and instructed. Developing a site management system for the control of health and safety, meeting the requirements of relevant guidance. Developing and leading the H&S Team & wider teams on health and safety projects. Provision of an effective safety monitoring and control regime including programmes of visits, inspections, spot checks, and audits, prioritizing high-risk activities. Working in collaboration with other stakeholders to support the business units with Pest Management controls. Provision of comprehensive training programmes on safety procedures and compliance requirements. Leading the business's risk management software agenda to ensure a data-driven system is in place. Managing the health and safety team, setting suitable KPIs for the delivery of H&S and Fire strategy, and reviewing direct reports' performance. Qualifications and Experience:
Essentials:
Relevant health and safety experience gained in a multi-site retail/service industry. Level 6 Occupational Health & Safety Qualification. Fire Safety Qualification. Memberships within Health & Safety/Fire Organisations i.e. CMIOSH, MIFPO. Driving Licence and confidence to travel around the UK. This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel throughout the week and overnight stays away from home. Travel will be between our Head Office in East Croydon, London & retail premises nationwide. Desirable:
