The role
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. A significant programme of infrastructure investment is required on the Devonport site to meet the needs of the future MOD ship and submarine programmes. The Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Business Unit has been established to deliver a portfolio of facility development projects including the design, build and commission docking and berthing facilities for Astute Class submarine maintenance activities.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide financial services and business partnering to deliver the required financial performance of the areas under responsibility.
Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate accounting records.
Ensure appropriate accounting standards are applied including IFRS 15.
Perform financial reporting for internal and external stakeholder requirements including for Babcock Group, MOD, and regulator Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO) financial reporting purposes.
Establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including presentation of financials and ensure provision of timely and relevant information.
Support on finance department initiatives to improve consistency and efficiency of financial reporting including use of new tools and ways of working.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Finance Business Partner
Must be self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, adhering to deadlines.
Detailed knowledge of financial systems – ideally SAP.
Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
Ability to work in teams and be comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Finance Business Partner
AAT or working towards - Desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
