Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post-holder will be the representative of the E&F division at the emergency planning groups. This person will monitor, manage, coordinate, report on, and update any issues that require feedback to the emergency planning team for the estate's facilities, clinical engineering, health and safety, and fire divisions. The post-holder will represent the division and be the lead responsible officer for emergency planning.
The post-holder will line-manage the individual Trust's Head of Fire Safety and Head of Health and Safety and ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient GESH Group health, safety, fire, and non-clinical risk service.
To oversee, manage, monitor, and coordinate the functions of the Health and Safety Team, ensuring that managers and their staff have full access and support in meeting their legal obligations in managing their health and safety responsibilities, which include completing suitable and sufficient health & safety risk assessments.
The post-holder will be the GESH Group's representative to collate information and make responses on behalf of the Group CEO, Group Deputy CEO, Group Chief Facilities, Infrastructure & Environmental Officer, and other senior managers to all statutory bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive, NHSE&I, Fire Brigade, and the London Emergency Planning Group. The post-holder will oversee the management of all enforcement notices or general notices issued by statutory authorities in respect of any non-clinical risk systems and processes.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Masters/postgraduate level or equivalent proven experience in a senior management/leadership role in health, safety, and non-clinical risk management.
Specialist degree or equivalent level 6 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Risk Management.
Chartered safety and health practitioner (IOSH).
Experience
Essential criteria
Management/professional qualification or at least 10 years of senior management experience in health & safety/non-clinical risk management.
Extensive experience in overseeing and conducting accident investigations and root cause analysis.
Experience in reporting directly to the Board of an NHS Trust on all areas of non-clinical risk compliance.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
Extensive broad knowledge and experience of all Estates engineering and building compliance requirements.
Extensive broad knowledge and experience of the Premises Assurance Model requirements.
Skills
Essential criteria
Able to analyse data and compile reports for presentation up to Board level.
Experience of performance management within a senior team.
Experience of managing large departments and budgets.
