The post holder will participate in the diagnosis and management of CYP with a range of neurodevelopmental difficulties, long term complex conditions and Neurodisability, share multidisciplinary team assessments and meetings as required, participate in multidisciplinary assessment clinics for children with suspected autism, for pre-school and school age children, participate in the diagnosis and management of neurodevelopmental conditions including ASD and ADHD, provide a safeguarding children service in conjunction with other colleagues, participate in providing medical input for SEN, special schools and adoption and fostering as required, and provide clinical supervision of Paediatric doctors in training. Qualifications/ Training
Full GMC registration Entry on GMC Specialist Register or, be within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview or, provide GMC confirmed eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register College membership (MRCPCH) or qualification of an equivalent level Postgraduate academic degree CCT or equivalent in subspeciality of Community Child Health Previous Experience
A minimum of 2 years' experience and training Interest and experience in working with multi-disciplinary Inter-agency teams Experience in diagnosis and management of social communication disorders Training and experience in the management of suspected child abuse and attendance at case conferences Achieved the competencies relating to General Paediatric Training, usually after 2 years of General Professional Training in Paediatrics. Able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to Higher Specialist Paediatric Training usually including 3 years in Community Child Health (usually after 5 years of Higher Specialist Training in total) Clinical Governance
Can evidence leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice Teaching
Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues Ability to teach clinical skills Research
Participation in research Published papers and original work in peer reviewed journals Disclosure and Barring Service Check
