The Position A new position in the business, your role will be to lead the content creation and communications responsibilities for the newly professional Surrey women’s team. The role will see you work closely with the team, creating social media content to showcase the skills and the personalities of the side; providing live social media updates on matchdays; responsible for completing matchday media obligations as well as working to showcase the new team across traditional PR and social channels. You will play a key role in telling the stories of the team on and off the pitch as we build a loyal fanbase for the new team. What you’ll do Working within the Communications Team you will lead the external communications of the women’s team. You will be responsible for generating social media content across the women’s first team, second team and talent pathway. This will include: Matchday live updates Assisting with media opportunities and enquiries Writing press releases to promote the team Working with the Head of Comms to set key messaging for the team Creating match highlights packages, optimised for different social media channels and audiences Finding innovative ways to showcase the players’ personalities and their stories Leading on written content for the Surrey women’s cricket monthly newsletters Working with the Comms and marketing teams to grow the fanbase of the new team Working with the Partnerships team to fulfil sponsor obligations The Person The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities: Technical Qualities: Excellent written skills Experience in creating social media content Video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar Proficiency in graphic design, using Adobe Photoshop or similar Experience of shooting stills and video on phone or a digital camera in a professional environment Strong proof-reading skills with excellent spelling and grammar Personal Qualities: Ability to work under high pressure Accuracy and attention to detail Experience working with high profile individuals or talent A team-player and able to communicate well with others You will be expected to be available to work on the majority of Surrey women’s domestic fixtures - home and away – as well as international matchdays at the Kia Oval throughout the summer, this will include late evenings and weekends.
