Mechanical Engineering Line Manager

to join the Trials Experiments & Technology Development (TET) function to support the delivery of the programme portfolio. Location:

Space Park Leicester with some travel to AWE (Aldermaston) , with

free onsite parking . Package: £47,690 - £60,000

(depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience). Working pattern:

Space Park Leicester

which presents an opportunity to help build a new team that aims to enable AWE to feed into science and engineering talent available in the academia and businesses throughout the midlands. You will act as a liaison between the TET Management team and the staff who implement their vision. These teams are new so you will need to have a proven record of managing diverse teams of personnel who require strong leadership and vision. Ideal Candidates will have the following skills, experience, and behaviours: Experience of Line Management of a newly formed team to support the following activities:

Development and testing of Mechanical Engineering projects. Development of environmental test reference bodies. Material development & testing. Aerothermal and engineering analysis. To advise on advanced component manufacturing.

Working as a team with the other managers to provide best practice support to our personnel. Working as a team with the other managers to ensure delivery of the portfolio is met. Identifying and supporting opportunities for developing staff within your area of responsibility. Support the logistics of the recruitment process whilst adhering to AWE's recruitment policy. Whilst not to be considered a checklist, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following: Experience of managing engineering staff. Effective communication and influencing skills. Knowledge of core mechanical design engineering principles. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
