Job Summary : The Employee Relations and Retention Specialist is responsible for supporting the Human Resources Director with strategic employee relations and retention initiatives across the organization. This role’s primary focus is to create, enhance, and strengthen our employee experience and make a positive impact on employee retention. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Help identify, map, assess and measure the touchpoints across the "hire to retire" journey, finding the moments that matter and pain points that need to be addressed, then creating supporting programs and processes. Develop queries and reports to extract useful, accurate data from the survey system and from feedback provided by employees during the 30- and 60-day New Hire Interview, Stay Interview, and Exit Interview discussions to build reports and presentations for HR leadership to share with executive leaders. Capitalize on cultural trends and business events to manage our engagement calendar, driving awareness and program participation in support of our key HR stakeholders, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Recognition, Performance Management, Training & Development, Succession Planning, and more. Manage projects that relate to Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Lead employee focus groups utilizing this data to make recommendations for improvements along the way. Provide consultation with employees as needed. Assist with employee relations by reviewing and coaching management regarding employee performance coaching plans and assist with employee relations investigations. Coordinate and lead activities for the All-Staff Conference Committee. Recommend and participate in the planning for all employee engagement activities. Work closely with Marketing, Public Relations, and Human Resources to execute integrated programs and update company Intranet. Manage the Bi-Lingual Testing Program working directly with the vendor on annual renewals and system updates. Work with the Director of Human Resources annually to develop and manage the Employee Referral Bonus Program. Ensure employees meet eligibility requirements to qualify for the Tuition Reimbursement Program. Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources and the VP of Human Resources annually to deploy the employee engagement survey. Collaborate with HRIS to prepare engagement survey results by evaluating and reporting the data and trends for recommendations to senior leadership. Perform other duties as assigned. Must possess a valid Driver’s License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont)

must have the ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed. Qualifications

Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree is required. At least 3 years of employee engagement and employee relations experience is required. Experience in an OPWDD or DOH environment is preferred. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in addition to Paycom HRIS and survey databases is required. Familiarity with relevant policies, labor laws and regulations. Excellent verbal, written, listening, questioning, and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess the ability to exercise judgement, critical thinking and collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate resolutions are met. Must possess strong customer service skills. Must be flexible and adaptable, able to cope with unexpected events. Participate in various projects as assigned. Absolute sense of integrity and personal commitment to serving people with I/DD and their families. Must have good organizational skills to meet responsibilities efficiently. Ability to work autonomously. Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and ability to work in a team environment.
