Senior Manager- Energy International Tax (Open to flexible working) We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join our international tax services team, who are recognised as being leaders in international tax advisory and cross border M&A. You will be working with some of the largest corporations in the world advising them on their international tax planning and M&A deals, specifically within our International Transaction Tax Service (ITTS) Practice focusing on the Energy offering. You will collaborate with sector-leading Partners who are well known and respected in the market and work with a high-performing team that has advised on many high-profile and market-leading transactions over the past few years. Our international tax professionals will work on various projects focused on helping clients develop and execute their international tax strategy, including: Expansion into new markets Pre-transaction reorganisations and post-transaction integration Legal structure rationalisation Operating model redesign Optimisation of capital structure and financing Optimisation of intellectual property ownership and reliefs Managing the risk arising from global law changes such as BEPS Lobbying and negotiation with tax authorities in the UK and globally Your key responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with clients, winning work proactively and contributing to acquiring new clients Manage the successful delivery of technically complex consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business-focused approach Overall responsibility for the quality of client service Manage possible leads from other areas of the practice Build networks and relationships internally and externally for team leverage Develop junior staff through effective supervision, coaching, and mentoring Significant involvement in the management of the team in terms of strategy and operations, as well as managing junior staff development and assignments. Skills and attributes for success Client-focused and commercially aware Strong international and UK tax technical skills and understanding Commitment to building strong client relationship management with the ability to develop quality outputs Negotiation skills and ability to handle challenges Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities Strong business acumen with the ability to manage engagement financial results Effective time management, remaining calm under pressure Excellent communicator in various situations, both written and oral Enthusiastic team player with the ability to create and sustain effective teams Ensure delivery of quality work and manage day-to-day delivery Change-oriented and innovative with a flexible approach to working and adoption of new technologies. To qualify for the role you must have ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA; or Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training Course; or Law qualification Experienced corporate tax practitioner Proven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statutes Experience in a client-facing role in UK tax or similar jurisdiction Experience working within the Energy sector Ideally, you’ll also have Project management skills, planning and prioritising work, meeting deadlines, and monitoring budgets.
