A dynamic environment that involves high-speed parcel sortation and automated systems. Responsibilities Maintenance & Servicing:

Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics, and repair work on mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring minimal downtime across a range of production and automated parcel sorting equipment. Electrical Fault Finding:

Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, including 3-phase motors, inverters, PLCs, and drives, on automated conveyors, sortation systems, and other FMCG production machinery. PPM & Reactive Maintenance:

Balance Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) with reactive maintenance to maintain the efficiency of machinery and systems. Work on electrical control panels, power distribution, and monitoring systems to identify and address faults. Project & Improvement Work:

Take part in continuous improvement initiatives, including electrical upgrades, efficiency improvements, and system automation. Support site projects such as the installation of new sorting equipment and upgrades to existing machinery. Automation & Controls:

Work on the commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automation systems, including conveyor control systems, sortation technologies, barcode scanning systems, and robotics. Electrical Safety & Compliance:

Ensure that all electrical work is completed in line with HSE standards and best practices, with full compliance to regulations such as 17th Edition (or 18th Edition) IET Wiring Regulations, ensuring electrical systems are safe, efficient, and meet operational needs. Improving Reliability & Performance:

Identify opportunities to enhance the operational performance of the site, including optimizing energy efficiency, increasing machine reliability, and reducing breakdowns. Ideal Candidate Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background, ideally within FMCG or high-volume automated environments such as parcel sortation, distribution, or warehousing. Experience with 3-phase electrical systems, inverters, variable speed drives (VSDs), PLC controls (Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMI systems, and control panels. Strong fault-finding skills, particularly in a fast-paced, automated environment with a focus on automation and robotics. A good understanding of electrical schematics, control logic, and machine wiring. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an FMCG, automated distribution, or industrial maintenance environment. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to quickly respond to faults to minimize downtime and ensure smooth site operations. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including electrical safety standards and best practices. Remuneration £55,000 per annum + additional allowances (shift dependent). The site operates 24/7 across 3 shifts, with some flexibility required.
