GPS Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Manufacturing (Operations Manager) to work for a leading engineering business. In this role, you will provide exceptional leadership and management for all operational aspects within the site. This will be a pivotal role linking the day-to-day operation with the continuing company growth.

We are currently looking for a Head of Manufacturing to initially lead the manufacturing site close to Leeds. The purpose of this role is to ensure all onsite manufacturing and warehousing operations perform effectively, are fit for the future and are continually improving.

The position comes with strong career progression, initially focusing on the flagship site in Leeds, then to potentially across the group.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Deliver daily, weekly, monthly and annual manufacturing SPQDC KPIs Foster a team-first culture where high morale and high performance go hand in hand Ensure a highly skilled, flexible and effectively resourced team is in place through talent planning Establish Safety-First/Zero-Harm culture and systems onsite Establish Quality Right-First-Time culture and processes within manufacturing Review manufacturing resources, machines and capacities versus the 24mo sales forecast Ensure inventory and warehousing is effectively managed, continually reviewed and optimised Lead manufacturing through a planned site-expansion project Implement manufacturing best-practice (setting global group best practice)

Key skills/experience:

Exceptional team leadership, people development and HR policy & procedures capability Experience managing teams up to 60 people (through a supervisory team) Advanced operational Health & Safety & QMS experience Working proactively with sales colleagues to provide excellent service and profitable margin growth Defining and implementing 12-36month site improvement plans Stockholding, 3PL and manufacturing operations experience (B2B and direct to customer) Managing change projects Implementing operational best practice (Lean, WCM, WCO etc)

Expected skills:

Component-based + Value Adding manufacturing and or sub-assembly manufacturing Continuous Improvement/Lean/WCO deployment Multi-site (inter-company) warehousing & supply chains within a global company Specifying and deploying WHM systems (Warehouse Management Systems)
