About the Role The Group Financial Controller is responsible for running the daily operations of the central group finance function. This includes Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Financial and Management Accounting as well as all statutory filings. As my client continues to progress through a transformational period in FY24, it will arrive at its target operating model by April 25 when the finance team will be fully centralised.

Key Responsibilities Manage day to operations of the group finance function, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the group. Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP). Ensure all internal reporting to the owning partners is made accurately and on time. Complete all statutory filings accurately and on time for all legal entities within the group. Develop and maintain robust internal control systems across the group to safeguard assets, ensuring financial data integrity and mitigating against risk including fraud. Support Group FD to ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and corporate governance standards. Oversee the implementation and monitoring of financial policies and procedures, leading to a more automated and productive workforce. Manage the group's cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational and capital investment needs. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across the group, ensuring high performance and continuous professional development. Foster a collaborative finance function, encouraging best practices and knowledge sharing. Ensure sales commissions are reported and accounted for accurately across the group. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including shareholders, banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies. Oversee the implementation and optimisation of financial systems and technology solutions to continuously improve efficiency and accuracy.

Key Skills/Experience Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Experience in finance leadership role Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations. Ability to multitask and juggle multiple deadlines across different workstreams. Can demonstrate both sound finance and commercial judgement. Track record of enhancing processes and driving best practice across Finance functions. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity and ethical standards. Strong Excel skills. Ability to step in for Group FD when they are on leave.
