About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in East Grinstead. We are seeking a dynamic individual who can make English engaging and relevant, tailoring lessons to suit varying abilities and helping every student reach their potential. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical analysis in a supportive and stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities: * Deliver engaging and dynamic English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. * Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and departmental standards. * Inspire and motivate students to develop their skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. * Monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. * Effectively manage classroom behaviour to create a positive and productive learning environment. * Actively participate in departmental meetings, CPD opportunities, and whole-school activities. * Contribute to the school's ethos by engaging in wider educational initiatives and supporting students' holistic development. Essential Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. * A degree in English, English Literature, or a related field. * Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level. * Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. Desirable Skills: * Experience teaching A-level English Language or Literature. * Familiarity with the latest developments in English education and pedagogy. * Passion for extracurricular activities related to English, such as creative writing clubs, debate teams, or literature competitions.
