Job Purpose United Utilities are the custodians of 56,000 hectares of land across the North West. Land is critical for water quality and resources, but also provides opportunity to deliver wider benefits including for carbon, biodiversity and social value through access. The role holder will collate and analyse data to support the development of land strategy; carry out spatial and data analysis to identify opportunities and risks; lead data reporting to track delivery; and work collaboratively with colleagues to drive value creation on land. Job Accountabilities Data collation and analysis to identify risks and opportunities on land and support decision making. Supporting the development of decision-making tools to optimise land plans against multiple outcomes such as water quality, carbon, biodiversity and low carbon energy. Developing approaches to land data collection and ongoing data management which align to and feed into corporate systems. Tracking and analysis of the delivery of land schemes to support reporting and communications, internally and externally. Supporting the development of joined up, landscape scale plans such as Landscape Recovery Schemes, with external stakeholders. Data and geospatial analysis to support the development of the land strategy and sub-strategies (e.g. access and recreation). Support in the wider communications of the land strategy and associated activities to relevant internal and external stakeholders. Working collaboratively with land, catchment and operational teams to ensure that the broad range of services required from land are balanced. Knowledge and Skills A degree or post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent relevant work experience. Awareness of the impact of catchment and land activities on downstream services. Advanced data analysis and data presentation skills using GIS, excel and other software e.g. tableau. Able to interrogate data to identify trends, patterns and potential business impacts. Great communication skills, able to present complex analysis to a non-technical audience. Awareness of environmental, social and political drivers for change relating to land. Organisational skills, drive and commitment to manage a high workload to meet challenging deadlines. Able to proactively maintain knowledge and skills to be able to develop within the role.
