Principal Teacher Salary PT Point 4 (£62,022 per annum) Days and Hours of work: Monday - Friday To start asap. Curriculum Leader: Health and Wellbeing East Lothian Council seeks to appoint a dynamic and experienced individual for the position of Curriculum Leader: Health and Wellbeing, at Rosehill High School on the Wallyford Learning Campus. Our brand new building opened in August 2023 and currently has around 500 pupils in S1-S4, with further rapid growth expected as the senior phase expands and local house building continues. The new secondary learning facility is designed to support creative approaches to pedagogy, with a range of adaptive teaching spaces. Alongside up to date and digitally enabled classrooms, there is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) plaza, a Learning Resource Centre, extensive facilities to support the arts, and a state of the art sport and leisure complex. Learning and teaching on the campus goes beyond the traditional classroom and encompasses Outdoor Learning and Sustainability as core offers. The campus also includes a number of community spaces to support collaboration between a range of professionals and sectors. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can: Lead and manage a large faculty with a range of subject specialisms (PE, HE), demonstrating an inclusive approach to Health and Wellbeing experiences and qualifications Develop an exciting and challenging curriculum which demonstrates coherence and progression, including the BGE Health and Wellbeing common courses, BGE Outdoor Learning programme, and S3 Pathways, as well as a growing suite of senior level courses Deliver a meaningful core PE offer throughout the school Support the DYW agenda by linking Health and Wellbeing to workforce intelligence and vocational opportunities for young people Successfully undertake a whole school responsibility for Outdoor Learning, including working with others to support professional learning for staff, pupil engagement in related extra-curricular activities, and family learning opportunities Exemplify the highest standards of learning, teaching and assessment to support the wellbeing and learning of all, with a clear focus on the voice of the learner to support excellence and equity Make effective use of quantitative and qualitative data to self-evaluate and contribute to whole school approaches to raising attainment and promoting achievement Provide their team with support and challenge, using coaching and mentoring approaches as appropriate to ensure continuous improvement Build positive relationships with all members of the school community, including partnerships with other providers of sport/activity/hospitality opportunities Exhibit a commitment to ongoing professional learning with a focus on improving outcomes for young people The successful candidate will be at the forefront of a growing school community and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people's lives.
