Zenith is the UK's leading independent vehicle leasing business and we are growing FAST! We've been awarded 'Large Business of the Year' at the Yorkshire Post's 2022 Excellence in Business Awards and we're really proud of how far we've come. We pride ourselves on working in an industry-leading business, ensuring that our employee experience is a priority and striving to provide customers with the best of the best. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Controller to join our Maintenance & Risk Team within our Commercial division. Responsible for in-life servicing and repairs for our maintained vehicles (Commercial vehicles, HGV, LCV & Assets), this is a fast-paced but rewarding role where you will need to possess excellent motor industry technical skills, have an eye for detail together with a natural investigative approach. A great opportunity for a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic looking to apply their skills outside of the workshop. So, what will you be doing? The role involves a full spectrum of varied responsibilities including but not limited to: Maintenance Authorisation - using their knowledge from previous employment as a vehicle technician / mechanic, our maintenance controllers authorise all servicing and maintenance repairs, ensuring customers' vehicles are safe and legal, whilst protecting our SMR budget. Tyre authorisation – liaising with key suppliers to replace tyres for customers whilst ensuring we fit the correct volumes of different tyre brands to fulfil our contractual targets. Customer Recharges – highlighting repairs that are not covered by our contract and then carefully explaining to customers why repairs need to be recharged back to them and seeking authority to do so. Vehicle Rejections – handling any merchantability claims and liaising between customers and manufacturers to agree an equitable solution. Budget Management – looking for vehicles that have exceeded their maintenance budget and taking appropriate action to liaise with our Customer Services teams to have the vehicle de-hired or changed to a pay on use contract. Dealing with requests for information from customers or other internal departments quickly and efficiently. Reviewing the vehicle authority request and researching if any other options for the repair are viable. Moving the vehicle to an alternative repairer to reduce costs and downtime or to arrange an alternative parts supply. Essential Skills & Experience: Full Technical Qualifications – i.e. City & Guilds 381 or similar. Mechanical repair experience (ideally HGV experience). Strong investigative ability with attention to detail. Excellent negotiating and communicative skills. Excellent telephone manner. Working under pressure and to targets. The ability to build and maintain supply relations. Desire to deliver exceptional service. Strong organisational skills. Reliable / Punctual. Reward: Salary up to £30,990.70. Company Bonus on top of salary. Agile working / Hybrid working after successful probation period. 24 days holiday, which increases with length of employment. Your birthday off! A great pension contribution by Zenith (6.25%). Private Medical Insurance as standard. Life Cover. Access to our own Zenith GP – on site and virtual for self and immediate family. Massages on site. Zenith AA breakdown cover. Excellent referral scheme if you recommend a friend to us. Sports and Social club - Company/Team activities. Free parking. Onsite bistro. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion networks. Perks at Work – save money on everyday essentials with access to shopping discounts. Flexible Benefits include: Buy / Sell Holidays. Critical Illness cover. Dental Cover. Cash Plan. Cycle to Work Scheme. Tech scheme. We want to positively encourage differences in Zenith and believe it is critical to our success as a company. Zenith is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace that seeks to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We therefore encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages and sexual orientations, as well as parents, veterans, people living with disabilities, and any other groups that could bring diverse perspectives to our business.
