We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team at a vibrant Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. If you are proactive, adaptable, and committed to supporting students in their educational journey, we want to hear from you! About the Role: As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students during teacher absences, ensuring that lessons continue smoothly in a safe and supportive environment. This role involves working with students who have a wide range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Key Responsibilities: Supervise students in the absence of their usual class teacher. Support students with a variety of SEN needs, helping them engage with the curriculum. Provide a nurturing, inclusive, and safe environment for students. Ensure students remain on task and follow instructions given by the class teacher or school leadership. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and strategies. Work closely with SEN staff and teachers to ensure students' needs are being met. Help students with tasks such as note-taking, using assistive technology, and participating in activities. Encourage social and emotional development by fostering positive relationships. Provide feedback to teachers on student progress, challenges, and behaviour. About You: Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
