English Teacher

to join a vibrant secondary school in East Grinstead. This full-time position is ideal for an educator passionate about inspiring students to develop a love for English language and literature while achieving their academic goals. We are seeking a dynamic individual who can make English engaging and relevant, tailoring lessons to suit varying abilities and helping every student reach their potential. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical analysis in a supportive and stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and dynamic English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and departmental standards. Inspire and motivate students to develop their skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. Effectively manage classroom behaviour to create a positive and productive learning environment. Actively participate in departmental meetings, CPD opportunities, and whole-school activities. Contribute to the school's ethos by engaging in wider educational initiatives and supporting students' holistic development. Essential Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. A degree in English, English Literature, or a related field. Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Desirable Skills: Experience teaching A-level English Language or Literature. Familiarity with the latest developments in English education and pedagogy.
