The Head of Technology Services will be a strategist, leader, manager, and supervisor who will drive the company's technology strategy. Although technical expertise is necessary, this role places a higher emphasis on leadership, business acumen, and strategic planning. What you'll be doing Significantly contribute to the company's strategy for using technological resources, ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably, and securely. Evaluate and implement the most appropriate technologies that align with the company's overall goals. Manage and lead the technology team to deliver on business objectives. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation in the team. Establish strong IT governance for the company, including design, implementation, and ongoing compliance with IT governance responsibilities. Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture. Ensure all technology projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification. Oversee risk management, including data privacy, data security, and compliance matters. Understanding of data privacy standards and cybersecurity frameworks. Experience in managing IT risk and creating disaster recovery plans. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to explain complex technology concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Skilled in negotiating contracts and service level agreements with vendors, ensuring the company receives value for money from its technology investments. Understanding financial principles related to technology investments, budgeting, cost management, and financial risk management. Ability to forecast costs and assess the economic benefits of various technological solutions. Manage relationships with vendors and consultants, negotiating contracts and costs. Mentor the team and assist them with their career development within the company. Stakeholder management – Client presentation when required. What we're looking for – Essential Extensive experience (8+ years) as Head of Technology Services, or a similar role. Proven track record of leading high-performing technology teams and driving successful technology initiatives. Deep understanding of technology architecture, infrastructure, and software development principles. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the capacity to navigate complex challenges. Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Professional IT Certification(s), such as ITIL, PMP, etc., would be advantageous.
