Marks Sattin are pleased to be partnering with a reputable Housing Association in Birmingham to recruit a Finance Manager due to a positive restructure following significant growth. The role is a full-time office based role, so applicants must be within a daily commutable distance.

The Finance Manager will be a pivotal figure in the organisation, dealing with the Exec Team so the Finance Manager will have excellent communication skills with the ability to provide financial information to non-financial stakeholders. The Finance Manager will also oversee a team of 5. Previous experience managing or supervising is essential.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information to support management in making informed decisions. This role encompasses the preparation of management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as assisting the business in reaching its financial goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, an excellent attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities include: Preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts. Analyzing variances against budget and prior periods, providing insightful commentary and recommendations for corrective actions. Ensuring all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards and company policies. Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department heads to understand financial needs and objectives. Monitor budget performance and update forecasts regularly, highlighting any potential risks or opportunities. Providing financial insights to support the development of new projects and initiatives, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals. Maintaining and enhancing financial controls and processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies. Preparing reports and presentations for board meetings and other key stakeholders. Identifying and implementing improvements to financial systems and processes to increase efficiency and support the growing needs of the business. Leading and managing a team of 5, ensuring effective delegation of tasks and alignment with departmental goals. Conducting regular performance evaluations, offering constructive feedback to enhance team performance. Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. To be considered you will: Be a Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Have proven experience in a senior management accounting or finance manager role, ideally within the housing sector or property management industry. Have strong technical accounting skills with a good understanding of financial reporting standards and regulations. Have advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial management software. Have excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear recommendations. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Ideally have knowledge of housing finance, including grant accounting and regulatory reporting.
