The Exciting Role A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an A Level English Language Teacher. You will be part of a highly successful team of dedicated A Level staff within our Humanities section at Nelson and Colne College. In particular, the A Level programme aims to: Provide a highly ambitious curriculum which inspires students to achieve their very best and which supports them to aim high and reach the extraordinary. Support students to progress onto higher education and then onto exciting and ambitious careers. Ensure a strong focus on adding value, realising aspirations and equipping students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress onto the best universities. Provide students with the widest range of experiences possible, building cultural capital; inspiring and enabling them to make a lasting and positive contribution to the wider society. This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation, or a talented aspiring trainee teacher looking for support with their teaching qualification. If you are applying as a trainee teacher, the College's Trainee Teacher programme will include funding for your teaching qualification, as well as mentoring support and coaching from our experienced team. In addition, the DfE Taking Teaching Further funding also offers eligible recruits a £6,000 incentive payment. What You Will Be Doing: Plan, deliver and assess A Level English Language and Core English. Support learners in their academic journey and also as a pastoral tutor. Develop the wider knowledge, skills and behaviours for their next steps. Widen their cultural capital via extracurricular opportunities such as trips, fitness or visiting speakers. What We Are Looking For: An enthusiastic and knowledgeable A Level Teacher of English Language who can deliver outstanding teaching, learning and support to learners.
