Group Head of Procurement W Talent are now partnering with a manufacturing company located in the East Midlands who are searching for a Group Head Of Procurement to lead and manage a team of professionals. They are a dynamic and innovative company, committed to excellence in the industry. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Of Purchasing to join the team and drive procurement operations to new heights. The role will encompass both indirect and direct procurement categories. Position Overview Our client located in the East Midlands is developing a strategic procurement function for the UK. You will be reporting globally to the Director of Procurement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both indirect and direct strategic category procurement management within an engineering manufacturing environment. You will have experience of sourcing mechanical, electrical, and technology-based products for manufacture. You will be procuring semi-finished goods, finished goods, and raw materials. You will have a strong background in leadership and coaching, excelling operationally with procurement and supply chain tactics. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:

Lead and develop a high-performing UK Purchasing team. Oversee the local series purchasing team and provide dedicated support for indirect purchasing, project procurement, and customs operations. Supplier Management:

Manage purchasing operations and ensure supplier performance aligns with our quality and delivery standards. Supply Chain Security:

Ensure a secure supply chain and manage escalations in critical situations. Communicate effectively with both external partners and internal stakeholders. Market Analysis:

Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement at both local sites and across the Group. Supplier Development:

Perform on-site supplier visits and comprehensive audits to foster supplier development and drive continuous improvement. Project Leadership:

Lead purchasing projects with a focus on local and group objectives. Ensure the efficient use of purchasing-related IT systems. Key Requirements To apply for the Head of Procurement position located in the East Midlands, you will need to have a proven track record of leadership within engineering and manufacturing procurement functions, complemented with excellent stakeholder management skills. You will show examples of improving supplier performance, cost of acquisition, and supplier risk management. The East Midlands will be a commutable distance; you may reside in the local regions. This is a manufacturing role where 80% of your time will be spent onsite ensuring corporate procurement objectives are met. Qualifications MCIPS qualified or a purchasing-related degree is desirable for this role. What's on Offer £70,000 - £80,000 plus excellent corporate benefits.
