As Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in evolving the Finance function to meet the needs of a more corporate environment, focusing on financial accounting, reporting, and tax optimisation. Key Responsibilities : Lead all aspects of financial accounting, audits, and taxes (PAYE, VAT, CT, and annual returns), building capability within the team and reducing reliance on external advisers. Oversee statutory accounts preparation, audit processes, and compliance. Act as the go-to tax expert, managing HMRC engagement, investment tax treatments, and other tax matters. Contribute to strategic initiatives, including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management, while supporting funding solutions and external reporting. Shape and uphold Group accounting policies, ensuring clarity and consistency. Build and nurture relationships with external partners, including auditors, banks, and advisers. Drive continuous improvement, enhancing processes and reporting. Mentor and develop team members, promoting growth, collaboration, and succession planning. Reimagine the AR function, introducing fresh leadership and innovative practices. About You : Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred, ideally Big 4 trained). 5+ years’ experience as a Group Financial Controller. Strong communicator and relationship-builder with a collaborative leadership style. Analytical thinker with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Empathetic and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous. This role is ideal for a values-driven leader ready to shape a high-performing team and leave a lasting legacy in a growing organisation.
