In this exciting role within the Corporate and Commercial Bank (CCB), you’ll be managing a portfolio of corporate clients and be a key part of a team helping to deliver the growth ambition for the Scotland and Northern Ireland region. You’ll focus on client acquisition, maintenance, relationship development and retention together with the management of all aspects of risk. You’ll also drive the advocacy of Santander UK in the marketplace by developing excellent working relationships with key business introducers, prospects, and clients. You’ll work closely with a relationship manager to deliver a client-centric approach to solutions for both corporate clients and new-to-bank prospects and work collaboratively with other teams to meet their short- and long-term needs. Delivering a client experience second to none and adding value by engaging with clients to gain a deep understanding of their business and to anticipate their needs. Promoting Santander’s reputation with clients, prospects, and external stakeholders, including a wide professional advisor network. Identifying, assessing and mitigating all risks associated with the role, including Credit (from application through ongoing portfolio management), Financial Crime, Data integrity, Fraud and Cyber Risk. Delivering a consistent and proactive approach to business development, both in relation to new activity and the ownership of and conversation with prospects. What you’ll bring: These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role: A deep knowledge of the corporate banking sector and the wider economic, business, and competitive environment. Credit risk analysis skills, with the ability to review accounts and have meaningful conversations with clients. Highly developed negotiation, networking, and business development skills, with a track record of delivery against a growth strategy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written. It would also be nice for you to have: Experience of managing, coaching, and providing ongoing development of colleagues. Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met. Understanding of credit risk rating models and the process flow for lending transactions. Excellent understanding of financial accounts and analysis in a corporate client context or credit risk experience in a corporate banking environment. What else you need to know: This role is based in Glasgow. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles). How we’ll reward you. As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus. We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer. 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5 years of service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year. £6,000 car allowance per year.
