Deans Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the community of Deans in Livingston, currently with a roll of 238 pupils across 10 classes, and a nursery with 32 children open 38 weeks per year. The Senior Leadership Team consists of a Head Teacher and Depute Head Teacher, supported by a skilled and motivated team of teaching and non-teaching staff working collaboratively to support and challenge learners. We are seeking to appoint a nurturing and motivated pupil support worker to join the nursery team. The successful candidate will provide general support related to children’s individual care, health, wellbeing, and safety. The ideal candidate should be solution-focused, with an understanding of supporting pupils in an educational setting and fostering positive relationships. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and you will need to work effectively as part of our nursery team to support children’s learning. This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the commencement date to become registered, with the stipulation that the application must be submitted within three months of the start date. If already registered, you will need to add West Lothian Council to your account. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment by West Lothian Council.
