DV clearance required (Non-negotiable) We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a Senior EC&I Engineer to support critical operations at the Burghfield site. This role requires expertise in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) engineering, including experience in Design Acceptance Reports (DAR) writing and working within highly regulated environments. This is a contract role , on site and must hold DV Clearance Key Responsibilities Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs) Cable schedules and layout drawings Produce and review Design Acceptance Reports (DARs) to ensure project designs meet technical standards and client requirements. Ensure compliance with British and European standards, as well as functional safety standards (BSEN 61508 & 61511). Create and maintain Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) and technical files aligned with the client’s Quality Management Systems. Oversee the development of functional safety and control system documentation, including: Functional Design Specifications (FDS) Software Interface Design Documents (SIDD) Manage technical details (e.g., drawings, specifications, and work instructions) to enable efficient manufacturing and installation. Prepare commissioning documentation, including Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) plans. Perform detailed reviews of subcontractor and in-house drawing documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements. Provide technical reports such as design basis, substantiation, and calculation reports. Support tender reviews with technical and commercial inputs. Qualifications and Skills : Must hold active DV clearance.

Essential Demonstrable experience writing Design Acceptance Reports (DARs).

Essential Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC, or equivalent experience.

Essential Broad-based engineering experience in design and manufacturing.

Essential Proficiency in designing electrical systems, particularly low-voltage control gear and control systems.

Essential Strong knowledge of EC&I engineering standards and principles.

Essential Membership in an appropriate technical/professional body.

Desirable Familiarity with AutoCAD and drafting standards.

Desirable Experience with HAZOP/HAZID processes.

Desirable IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Level 2 Health & Safety certification.
