How many career-defining roles have you seen in the last few weeks? Not many, I bet.
What about roles with a clear pathway to CTO in two to three years while building a startup that will transform the future of air cargo?
‘But 60% of startups fail in the first three years, right?’
Yes, but this startup is fully funded, already has two massive clients, and many more are queuing up.
They have big goals, such as a second product, many more clients, and breaking into the US or Canadian market in 2025. They’ve identified multiple routes to make money, so the typical startup risks shouldn’t be a problem.
It also has no competition in a £10 billion market that traditionally uses email, text, spreadsheets and carrier pigeons to do business, which means you’re free to innovate and shape the future of managing air cargo.
You’d join as the technical lead at their London hub, working closely with the product team to become the ‘brain’ of the operation, with smaller teams in other time zones.
You’ll spend 20% of your time managing and mentoring the team while the interim CTO will coach and support you to prepare you for the CTO role in 18 months to three years.
40% will be R&D, where you research and devise solutions to problems and decide what to build. This includes examining how data is collected and used, integrating AI and machine learning into the products, adding layers of depth to the data, and prototyping and experimenting.
The rest of your time will be spent hands-on coding and helping build an enterprise-level approach to IT security and compliance. (Bonus points if you have experience in this area)
