Trust Tax Manager Location: Lewes, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid) Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 p.a. dependant on experience. The Role We are seeking an experienced Trust Tax Manager to join our team, specialising in trust and estate tax returns and Inheritance Tax reporting. You will be comfortable working and advising in all aspects of trust matters together with a good knowledge of inheritance tax, capital gains tax and personal tax. Key Responsibilities Preparation of trust tax returns and managing tax compliance for a range of trusts and estates. Preparation of inheritance tax accounts reporting ten year charges and exit charges. A good working knowledge of HMRC’s trust registration service. Preparation and filing of personal tax returns for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations. Provide tax planning advice to clients and trustees, helping to optimize tax efficiencies and mitigate liabilities. Liaise with clients, trustees, and third-party professionals to gather and verify information for tax filings. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation and apply it effectively to meet clients' needs. Handle client communications and provide support on complex tax matters. Support partners and legal teams with tax-related matters arising in private client cases. Support other team members by knowledge sharing and training as appropriate. Ensure all filing deadlines are met, and records are maintained in line with regulatory requirements. Qualifications and Experience Proven experience as a Trust Tax Manager or in a similar role, with a focus on trust and inheritance tax reporting. ATT/CTA qualification (or equivalent) preferred, STEP desirable. Strong knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations, particularly around personal taxation and trust law. Excellent communication and client management skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
